 The Hollywood Theatre and Stephen Slappe, chair of the Video & Sound at the Pacific Northwest College of Art are teaming up to present rare skateboarding films and early footage.
The two 90-minute programs will trace skatebording's early history, according to a release. Included in the footage are early appearances by well-known skaters including Lance Mountain, Cara-Beth Burnside, Billy Ruff, Mike Weed, Stacy Peralta, Russ Howell, Tom Sims, Gregg Carroll, Bert LaMar, and Tony Alva.
The programs will be screened Jan. 3 and Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The Hollywood Theatre is located at 4122 N.E. Sandy Blvd.

The deaths came about four months after a probation official expressed grave concern about Lewis' mental health. The report was prepared in a case in which Lewis was accused of attempting to break into the home of a woman in Santa Monica, Calif., and it described him as a transient. That case came about six weeks after Lewis hit two men over the head with a bottle during a fight.
The probation official wrote of being "very concerned for the well-being of not only the community but that of the defendant."

 Ben Kingsley was born in England. His father, Rahimtulla Harji Bhanji, was of Gujrati descent. Ben began to act in stage plays during the 1960s. He soon became a successful stage actor, and also began to have roles in films and TV. His birth name was Krishna Bhanji - but he changed his name to "Ben Kingsley" soon after gaining fame as a stage actor...Irfan Khan is from Jaipur, India. He was studying for his M.A. degree when he snagged a fellowship at (NSD) National School of Drama in 1984. After graduating in 1987, he moved to Mumbai. Theater and television kept him afloat till he appeared in a small role in Mira NairFreida Pinto traversed the modeling circuit in Mumbai [represented by Elite Model Management India] for two years before gaining her big break when director Danny Boyle picked her out in the audition process to play the female lead, Latika, for his project Slumdog Millionaire. In a promo interview, Boyle likened spotting her to his discovery of Kelly Macdonald for Trainspotting...'s in "Salaam Bombay" since Khan was responsible for the acting-workshops for the children of the film...
